Ike (OT)

Here's hoping all our SZ friends and loved ones not to mention countrymen in the path of Ike have a safe night tonight. This storm appears to be a worst case scenario and I'm afraid come the morning, there will be great loss of life, homes and commerce. Its hard to imagine but upwards of 20+ thousand residents from Galveston have chosen to remain in their homes, which could be a tragically bad call...

My brother lives in Longview which is due North of Houston and shouldn't have to leave but is ready to do so if need be.

Bill, I came through Longview earlier today. Sun is shining bright. I hope it doesn't get too bad because Shreveport is only an hour away.
