Bose L1 Portability

For those of you who gig with your Bose systems I am trying to find out how portable the unit really is. I also need to know about weight and setup issues. I transport all my gear in a Toyota Camry and wondered if that would work with a larger sound system.

I use a Bose L1 with Double Bass, it's probably one of the most easiest to transport because it breaks down into very small and manageable pieces.

SO fitting it into a camry is not a problem at all

Hammer no prob at all for a Camry...the hardest part for mine was squeezing it into the tight cover....you'll he fine it breaks down into small pieces the base being the biggest on the older model.

On the old system, I never take the base unit out of the cover, just unzip it and fold it back. The cover for the sub slips on easily. The covers for the two poles are tight when you get them, but loosen up quite well with use.
I also bought a speaker stand bag that holds both parts of the pole at the same time, and it works good too.
The new model two, is different. You do have to take the covers off, but it actually sets up quicker than the original. Seems to me that the poles and the base unit are a little lighter, but I'm not certain. The sub is the same for both systems. The model 2 takes up even less room in the car. I can't see, or hear, $1000. difference. Not sure I can hear any difference.

I'll agree with Don...not only is it easier to leave the cover on pulled back it protects the bottom of the plastic base due to the lack of rubber feet.

I found the L1 very cumbersome, heavy and a pain with 4 different pieces. Not to mention it sounded terrible for my venue. (2) powered monitors are far easier and great sounding in stereo - my opinion only.

Which monitors are you using? Do you stick them on poles?

Donny is correct (450v2). The all blue is great, but unintentional

I almost always have them on the floor, titled up - sounds fantastic and very safe. I use poles on bigger events only.
