Yamaha styles - changing the volume on pc

Yamaha styles - changing the volume on pc - 06/10/08 10:04 PM

I recently got a few good .sty styles created by a friend of mine. The only problem is that the volumes for each channel have to be changed (in the mixer), and it is not easy to do it on the keyboard (I have the PSR 3000).
Is there any software/programs that will do this on the computer (preferably free)?
Thanks!!

Go to http://www.heikoplate.de/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=3&Itemid=43

you will find lots of free programmes, courtesy of Heiko Plate in Germany.
You will find a link on the left of the page called "Downloads".
cheers

Jørgen:
Thanks for the help.
One more thing:
I also have a file that was made on another keyboard and has different fills whether you are playing a minor or major key.
Do you have any program that will edit this?
And do you have any program that will allow you to change each individual note, like on the keyboard (I just don't like to do it on the keyboard).
Thanks a lot!!

Hi

A short explanation to create different patterns depending on the chords played is at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/articles/style_11.htm
Link to releavant software at that page too.

I have no software to edit individual notes. Can be done in sequencer software as style files are MIDI files with some aditional data interleaved.
Before editing preserve this non-MIDI data by using my "Style Split and Splice" software at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/sands/index.htm

Jørgen:
Thanks again for the help.
Last question - in one style, when I switch from a minor to major (or vice versa) in the middle of a bar, the beat (or maybe just the rhythm) stops until the end of that bar.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Oh - also, I was trying to raise the velocity on all the keys by a certain percent. When I try this on the fills (with the keyboard), the fill will only play in major afterward.
Will any of your software change the velocity (or do you have any other ideas)?
Last thing - some of the styles were converted in StyleWorks. Is there any way to check the files for errors from the conversion?
Thanks a lot!!

Hi

Could you please send me the style files you are referring to? My mail address is at my site.

About Style Works conversions: Some of these have errors. For fixing this I wrote my Style Fixer software. Found at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/sfix/index.htm
