RAM for Tyros 2

RAM for Tyros 2 - 05/08/08 07:51 PM

I need to buy 1 GB RAM for my T2. Does anyone have recommendations on which to get?

Yamaha says in their manual:

•Yamaha recommends that you purchase DIMMs that conform to the JEDEC standard. Please be aware, however, that conformance to this standard does not constitute a guarantee that the DIMMs will operate correctly on the Tyros2.
•Use only 168-pin DIMMs of 64, 128, 256 or 512 MB capacity (synchronized DRAM; PC100 or PC133).
•Use only DIMMs that have a height 38.2 mm or less.

On their website they have a list of good RAMs:
Premium 64x64-133 LT 512mb
S3 Plus TS64MLS64V6F 512mb
PNY 6464WHSEM8G17 512mb

But the prices seems to range wildly and I'm not sure why. Is there a difference between different RAMs? Can someone post a link to a website that has provided good RAM for the T2? I'd like to get something reliable at a good price.

Thanks, Chony

BY THE WAY, I'm in Australia now for two weeks (and yes I have a T2 here), so if someone can find an Australian place to buy RAM that would be amazing!

Chony,
do a search here in the GA forum as we had a number of posts a couple of years ago when we were all adding ram and hard drives to our then NEW Tyros 2 keyboards,
