PA800 Harmony question

PA800 Harmony question - 04/16/08 12:40 PM

I thought I'd done this before but can't seem to do in now?

Is there a way to assign the harmony track to a style that I'm using as my song? (i.e. to the 2nd OTS) If so, please explain steps.

Thank you,
zuki

Hmmmm, interesting use of the buttons. I never tried it because the harmony button is so accessable, and I have a f/s too. You just MAY be able to record that selection in a performance with the tone select.
Sorry I don't have the answer, but I thought I'd throw my input in anyway!

Zuki,
You just modify the OTS and then save it via the drop down menu (top right hand corner). Make sure you select which OTS # in the subsequent save dialogue page that comes up.

Also ensure the VP is not locked in the Global lock pages.
Hope that helps,

Sorry Zuki,
I re-read your post, and the answer I gave was just to do with selecting a vocaliser preset with the OTS.

On the PA1x you can only select lower upper or chord scan (not actually WHICH upper track) for driving the harmoniser.

The PA 800 might have more extensive control capabilities.

Miden,

Thank you. You're correct. I think the harmony TYPE is what I did in the past via songbook - I don't believe the actual harmony button can be engaged via OTS - it's greyed out during book edit functions.

Hi Zuki,
I did a quick re-check in the PA1xpro manual, and it confirms you can only assign a harmoniser track when the resource is a midi file.

So from the the sound of it, the PA800 is exactly the same.

Pity, it would be very useful to be able to assign specific keyboard parts to control harmonies.

Dennis

PS Although I did just think of a way...would assigning the lower to play the harmony chords be useful? You can set this option in the global-voice processor preset first page (at the bottom) I am assuming it is the same view on the PA800.
It does mean it is set for all, and cannot be changed easily, but it WOULD enable the harmoniser on and off via a OTS..Just a thought. (assuming it runs the same as the PA1Xpro)
