Wanky organ, wanky trombone, wanky choir... Where to start?

But fine, pay five times as much as a G70 for something that doesn't sound as good... (I wonder what the flight case weighs? )

Diki.....
There is a whole world of ORGAN affectionatos out there.....with very good players enjoying making music.....it might not be what some of us enjoy, but as long as they are performing, learning, sharing & having fun its all a good thing....Music in your life in any way shape of form is a plus for sure. A persons financial abilities is of no consequence....personal happiness is priceless.

enjoy what you play

There's a whole world of crumhorn and sackbut players out there, too.

OK, OK, it's a TINY 'whole world', but you get the point.

Technical innovation and improvement only come when there is sufficient sales to drive them. Which allowing the organ to die as a relevant modern music making machine pretty much denies them. As the audience for antique musics gets smaller and smaller, the production of the means to perform it get smaller and smaller. But costlier and costlier to buy (volume equals low prices), which just reinforces the downward spiral.

The ONLY way to stop this decline is to use the instruments for more popular musics, and open up a new generation to it's possibilities. Which, sadly, NONE of these demos will ever do...

In the 90s organs all but disappeared in the West, but still sold like hot cakes in the Asian market.
Now the organ is making a come back in the West, otherwise why would Roland, Lowrey, Hammond, Orla, Bohm and others be bringing out new instruments.
Only Yamaha still refuses to market their organs (Electones) in the West, however the pressure is growing even on them.
