PA800 or Pa1x/2x Styles converted to YAMAHA please!!

EMC XT Universal still doesn't convert them.

I even reloaded the original operating system 1.01 into my PA800, saved a style, still crashing.. I thought the problem might have been the 1.51 operating system, the original crashed also.

if you need a couple of styles in paricular, I'll see if Stylefactory will convert them.

Rikki would you be so kind as to try to convert Pa800 Swing Ballad 2 to Yamaha format & see what happens .... my EMC crashes also when trying this Argggg.

Stylefactory doesn't crash, it just doesn't save the phrases like it's supposed to.

The Styletracks load in, but when I try to save them, only 2 or 3 save, the majority just dissapear.

Not an option either.

I'm having the same trouble, but going from the Yamaha to the Pa2xpro.

Has anyone a solution to converting Yamaha styles to the Korg Pa2 format?

the lack of & difficulty in style usage, & conversion was one of the major reasons I decided to move from the Pa800....styles are what drive an arranger & to put it in other terms....."If you run out of gas......your stuck on the side of the road"
so until this is addressed somehow by Korg, aftermarket companies, or whatever it leaves a BIG gap in my production & although there were so many great features I had to weigh my needs and this is at the top of the list and cannot be overlooked causing my exodus from Korg at this time....and it come Soooo close

The problem with the Korg styles, is they departed from other manufacturers, by allowing each style file to contain numerous different styles in one container. So, one file.sty can contain many styles.

We'll have to wait for EMC to get their act together.

The problem can be solved by selecting the Pa1X format in Style Works. Pa2X/Pa800 is compatible with Pa1X files. The only drawback to this is that you will not be able to use Ending 3.

I have converted a lot of Roland, Yamaha and Technics styles to the Pa800 this way. You can download some of them on www.createsongstyles.com in the Factory Styles forum.

Hi Donny & Al,
I'm not having problems converting
"TO" Korg PA800,
the problem is trying to convert
"FROM " PA800 to other formats.

I'm mainly dissapointed that I can't convert FROM PA800 , because I like to share the odd style that I do create. I do most of my styles via midi to style conversion rather than using emc. But to share with pa1x or PA80 owners I'd have to convert to those formats using EMC XT, (which supposedly reads the pa800 files, but still crashes when I do it).
I'm not sorry I upgraded to XT because it now has additional functions for style editing & importing & exporting style tracks. Just be nice if one day it does actually read the PA800 styles.

As Tommy said all one has to do is convert to PA1X format which the PA800 will play.

Korg / EMC conversions are no better or worse than conversions for my psr or sd1 in their raw state. Actually it's better converting to korg , because any editing required can be done onboard, which isn't the case for psr & Ketron.

unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the reason why PA800 crashes EMC.

PA1X has the same multi style setup & they convert without crashing the system.
