Hey Dave ,

Thanks for the link , that put a smile on my face !!

It`s like a complete definition of music.

Just let the walls fall , and see what happens.

Cool !

I know ! No boundaries! The trombone and marching bass drum are WAAAAY cool, aren't they?
If the song sounds familiar ... it's also used in an Apple commercial for the new Macbook.

Strange times...this is one of several international hits which got distribution and then sales when used as a commercial bed. The other one that comes to mind is another lady singing an odd little tune for an IPod commercial...you know..."one, two three, four....". She was on the Grammy's recently and will probably do well as a result.

Good for them both. Whatever works...

Her name is Feist. I just got her 'The Reminder' album (honored at the Grammy's). Good, solid acoustic girl singer-songwriter stuff. With a banjo! Mostly recorded in France.

Perhaps the rest of the world is waking up to the fact that little of interest is getting signed in the US these days (there's good music, but few signings), and sees an opportunity to offer something a bit more interesting and quirky that Brittney, Kelly and Fergie!

If you like her, check out Regina Spektor, too. A refreshing change of pace and instrumentation...

Pretty sure the "1,2,3,4"artist is this young lady. Two quirky, neat songs both used as international commercial beds.

Sounds like from her bio posted by Ian that she's been around a while.

Well deserved success!

Another catchy song I keep hearing on the radio these days with a car commercial, which I just love and was popular in the 70's by ELO is:

"Hold on tight to your dreams."

The vocals on the song, as well as every other Electric Light Orchestra tune, are amazing!!

It just makes me feel good when I hear it!

Jeff Lynne is a genius, plain and simple...!

His work with George Harrison, Tom Petty, and the Travelling Wilbury's (amongst many) show him to be the torch-bearer of George Martin and the Beatles sound and beyond.

BTW, to get some good inside info and footage of Jeff in the studio, check out the new Tom Petty DVD. A four hour film that I couldn't stop watching! Lot's of fascinating 'in the studio' shots of Tom through his career. Well worth getting...

Ah Thanx !
I like the hits, but know nothing about the members.
