PA800 Lower Hold - 01/29/08 07:19 PM

What happens on a PA800 in the following scenario. You have hold selected for chord and lower voice and with your left hand off the keyboard you change STS. Does the style keep playing normally? Does the lower voice keep playing or stop?

Hi Graham,
you have to set it up to hold the lower chord.
press menu button
preferences
memory mode : Select "Chord + Lower"

The way it appears to work is just say you have
strings for left on sts1.
choir left on sts2.

When you play left hand chord on sts 1 the arrangement starts, the strings are held for on left hand even when you take your hand off to press sts 2.
The string sound will still be held on sts 2 even though choir is the selected voice for left hand on sts2.
As soon as you change a chord the choir starts & will be held instead of the strings .
Just say you needed strings on all 4 sts's, you'd just need to alter & save them.

By the way, did you get the style, I posted the link in your message.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Graham,
that's great.
By the way, just in case you weren't aware,
if you have the "Single Touch" button flashing, your STS's will change with each variation
ie press vari 1 = sts 1
Vari 2 = sts 2.
I have the 5 switch pedal board and I've assigned one of the pedals vari up, another vari down. Haven't quite worked out my optimum settings for each of the pedals yet, but that's a handy one.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Graham,
you finally got it. I was fairly certain it would be the same. How are you going with it.

best wishes

Rikki, still early days, but here's my initial reaction, a thread I posted on Saturday.
http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/016923.html

I'm working on the right speaker system to use at home. I need something small and good looking since the keyboard is in our open plan living room/dining room/entry. I have have narrowed it down to the Logitech z4 or z2300. They both sound good (I tried them both on the Tyros 2 and they both sound better than the Tyros speakers). It might come down to which speakers are easier to mount on the wall (and that's looking like the z4 right now.

I'm planning to take my time on the transition since I have set up a program that I'm going to play on gigs for the next month already on the Tyros. Maybe I'll start by taking the Korg to church in a week or two, depending on how I get on with the setup.
