Ditto!! How can we get the CD. Tony that's why I installed XM Satellite radio in my car. Nothing even close to that great type radio here in Rhode Island.

Mo, I learned how to pronounce Sopranino

Me too ... I recently got HDTV service and it includes good radio stations, one of which is great straight ahead Jazz ...
I've 'Bookmarked' WDNA, so at least I can listen to it while on the PC ... and no doubt will just listen other times as well, through the Z-55s hooked up to the PC ...

Mo, nice job with the interview ... Hope there is a big crowd tomorrow night ... Have your wife take pics for us ...
Break a leg ...

Very nice, Mo. You sound a lot younger than the 68 you claim. Just goes to prove, age is just a number. Keep on groovin'.

I just got home guys, thanks for listening and comments. I'm not of this century or it would have occurred to me to post the interview last week when it was set up. I guess me getting there a bit late Mel wanted to wait until 5:05 but then while waiting the lightbulb went off in my head and i thought to call the wife and walk her through posting on SZ. so in a way glad i was late, called a couple gig prospects to listen while i was at it--caught one fish!

we are fortunate to have this great little
station, Mel is unpaid like most of the staff
But u can now enjoy it online, and also WLRN.ORG which is NPR but has jazz 9pm-12am.
Also there's a great Newark station serves
nyc area WBGO.org 24-hr jazz.

I'm selling both CD's for $20 the pair, and for SZ members I will ship free! I'll be posting cover art and samples over the weekend, but if u r hot to trot just email me
and I'll email you cover art and copy. You can send me check but best to paypal me,
mojazzmusic@the-beach.net is my paypal account.

chas,
did u catch the first tune,Body&Soul? as a B3 man, how did u enjoy Brian Murphy's backing
and his solo on the bridge? He plays B3 on
"The Thrill Is Gone" also (old Henderson/Brown
tune, not BBKIng's)

apologies to all for not thinking of saying
EST !!! I see SZ is on PST!! some of you
out west CST MST PST may have been misled. sorry, but i'm a little immature, my excuse is won't be 69 until Feb 26. y'all ARE buying me for b-day that backup E60 George Kaye has, aren't you? or do u all want it now after hearing the scat vocals? if it's gone you can get me one of the Roland SA-300 sound systems he's ordered.

btw guys this R&C sopranino i got jan 06 sounds better at $4k than the Selmer at $5K. and i did trade in my backup Selmer for $2700 towards it, so no need to pass the plate yet for me, it only set me back $1300.

if any E60 guys like the piano sound u heard
on Day By Day, i can offer u the recipe.

Mo ... my check will be in the mail ...
That is a great station ... if we had one like that in RI I would volunteer my time to be on the air ... I've always thought of myself as having a midnight to 5AM Jazz/Blues radio show anyway ...

Tony, you may want to check out WRIU on the University of RI Kingston Campus. 90.3 http://www.wriu.org/programming.html
I'm pretty sure the jazz folks are volunteers and most are not students. Just a thought

They have a live feed via the net too http://www.wriu.org/

Mo, I've always loved both tunes and always included them in my repertoire. If you ever get up this way, you can always sit in with my trio; heck, we may even let you sing. BTW, was that a real B3 on Body and Soul? I really can't always tell anymore. In any case, that's a super sexy registration for backing that kind of super sexy ballad. I also like the tone of that little 'nino'. It takes a big man to play a little horn .

chas

PS: I'll send you a couple of tracks with the Nord C1 if you like. I'd be interested in what Brian thinks of it. I'll track something at next rehearsal.
