Korg PA2X on youtube - 11/22/07 11:56 PM

Did a search and couldn't find this in a post yet, so here it is.

It is interesting that they are always released in that part of the world first. It would be nice to here some styles and sounds that the rest of us could relate to also.

Guess I'll email them and see if they'll do that for us

OK, I did send the 2 posters an email asking to hear some styles and voices for America and Europe. Let's hope they will accommodate us all

I also gave them the link to this thread!!!!

Keyboard Festival UK September we had 6 days of PA2X pre-production demonstrated.
Sounded all very nice but previous experience dictates you need a new model at home for a couple of days.

it's interesting how, about 90% of youtube demos for korg keyboards is arabic/oriental music. why's that?

I totally agree: Most Korg demos seem to be this way orientated

Maybe I should change to Roland again. Anyway, thanks for sharing the link Scott my friend, good on yer.

Our Mideastern community has developed specific styles for use in Korg, as well as other keyboards. In my opinion, this shows the versatility of the boards. just because available demo's seem to be oriented that way, does not mean the architecture of the OS is. It just means Korg enjoys a greater breadth of customers.

Yes, this is the best way. Demos can just give a hint at what a keyboard can do.

There's more truth in that statement that I would have believed 2 months ago. Now that I have a PS800 I have become a believer. That Tyro2 is still for sale folks

Thanx Donny, great video. It suppose this feature allows you to put your own guitar strums with styles.

Guess that means I could have that rhythm guitar sound that the Count Basie band had for years. Remember that great sound? He was to me the most important member of that band, always giving it a lift. He never took a solo except for once and then the guys in the band rigged the amp so it would do weird stuff, so he never did a solo after that.

Thanx Dreamer, he's the one. I love playing with a guitartist that can play like Freddie Green.

Re: Korg PA2X on youtube - 11/25/07 09:17 AM

I liked all of the voices in the video except that Sax. The Organs on the other hand were marvelous in my opinion. As were all the other voices except that particular Sax voice he used.

If the fill-in/variation anomaly is fixed then I may end up getting a Pa2xPRO down the road. Especially now that Ian's inside sources say no go for a 76 key Tyros3. If Ian has since learned differently about the possibility of a 76 key T3 he is certainly welcome to retract his former statement if he wishes.

PS: I will probably wait to hear more regarding the Ketron Audya (and hopefully be able to play one without driving 500 miles or flying to Italy to do so ), before making a final decision. And who knows, by the time the Audya is released Yamaha may be ready to release the T4 which will have 76 keys. And then there's Roland with its new 76 key G-90 Ultra coming soon to a store near you. When I say soon I mean maybe summer 2008.

Sorry for poking fun at Ketron but it is very interesting that since Ketron announced the Audya months and months ago, there is still no demos on their website and no update as to its status.

Best,
Mike

No retraction Mike...the inside source (from Japan) is reliable, and the T3 (or whatever)will be 61 notes.

Looks like you future may lie in the arms of Korg...not a bad thing, actually.

The PA2X-Pro looks pretty cool.
