Is anyone familiar with Turkish music? - 11/16/07 10:30 PM

I have a very important job coming up where I need to know a certain amount of Turkish music. Does anyone know where I can get either MIDI files, sheet music (to read), CD's, or anything to satisfy the Turkish people who will be attending. I'm really open to suggestions also.

Important: It has to be "danceable" and "recognizeable" though it doesn't have to be recent. I suppose the phrase Turkish "standards" would apply.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,
Although I spent a couple of years in Turkey, I don't have any midis or music. If you go to the Korg forum, especially the PA800 and PA80 forum(fora), there a many folks there who, I'm sure will be able to direct you midi files and/or sheet music. A couple of the forum participants are based in Turkey. Good Luck.
Ciao,

MM.. just received a failure of delivery!
The zip file is too large for your mailbox.
(these are 99 turkish midifiles in one zip)

Better mail me and I'll give you a place to download from.

Jerry.....thanks for the reply. I'm not sure where the Korg forum is that you meant. There are a few.

Would you mind putting the "addresses" here of the ones that would be most helpful.

Fred...I replied to you privately as you asked.

Thanks guys, for your help

Mark
