PSR740 simple function I can not figure out - 06/14/00 07:26 AM

I just got my PSR740 about a week ago and am loving it so far.

Just needed some help on something. I have no problem recording, but after I stop recording it asks me if I want to save the current song onto a disk. I would like to hear it first to see what it sounds like but I can't figure out how to do that. I've tried pressing the start/stop button again to see if anything happens, but nothing.

Anyone please help!!

Armando

Armando,
Simply put........no way!
You have to realize that your psr740 does not have an internal sequencer for the song recording. Only the styles may be recorded internally.
Everytime you try to record a song, if you haven't inserted a floppy disk, the screen lets you know you can't record. The reason you must hit save before you can listen to what you've recorded is because the track you've recorded must be found on the disk before it can be played back. There is no other way to do this. If you must have an internal sequencer, buy the PSR 9000 which sells for approx. $2750.00 or buy a different brand of keyboard such as Korg or Generalmusic which do have internal sequencers. This is one of the reasons why the PSR740 is priced so low. It would have cost more to provide a better sequencer and Yamaha's research has found that not that high of percentage of PSR users need a very sophisticated sequencer.
