In a paragraph, I want to highlight EVERY OTHER LINE. What buttons on the keyboard do I press and hold?

I tried pressing CTRL.
I tried pressing ALT.
I tried pressing SHIFT....that will highlight everyline I click on.
And I tried many combinations.
On my laptop I'm working in wordpad. (pc)
I'm editing a bunch of lyrics and it would go alot quicker if I can do this.

On my Mac I just press and hold the command key and click on the sentences I want to highlight.
It's that easy.

Do you have to use WordPad? If you can use Word it's simply a matter of pressing Crtl+B to turn bold on and off. Word would also be a lot easier for importing lyrics form other programs and from the i-net.

Thanks for your reply.
I recently downloaded Openoff.org because I don't have Word on my laptop.
I'm going to stick with Wordpad only because I've been using it so long and it's easy even though it's not as sophisticated as Word.
Thanks again

In WordPad, to highlight a row of text simply hold the Ctrl key and click on the beginning of the sentence. You can also select the entire paragraph by dbl-clicking.

Are you saying the Mac will automatically highlight EVERY OTHER LINE with a simple command-click?

What I'm saying is on my Mac I can highlight any random sentence I choose by simply holding down the Command key and clicking 3 times on any sentence.

Hi Peter
Microsoft Word does exactly the same, (You just use the Control Key) if you don’t have (Or don’t want to get) Microsoft Word then I believe the Free Open Office Software does the same.
Hope this helps

OK Peter, I finally found and loaded some lyrics on WordPad. It's simple to make anything bold - just highlight the word, sentence or paragraph and press ctrl+B (or press the B button on the toolbar. It's also easy to change colors the same way using the color button on the toolbar.

WordPad isn't bad, especially if ou are used to using it. But if you can step up to Word or some other full feature processor, you could do columns too, which really saves space on longer lyrics.

Good luck.

Cass,

He wants to highlight every other line--not bold the text. That cannot be done in any word processor I know of.
