USB Tyros -- Psr3000 - 04/17/05 07:53 PM

I want to use a memory stick on the Tyros, can the USB port be used in the same way I am using it on the Psr3000? Can it be used like the floppy and the Smart Disk?
1-Styles
2-Songs
3-Music finder
I am thinking of getting a Tyros I have sold my Psr3000. What will I lose? What will I gain?
Thank you for any kind of help, John C.

No, the Tyros will not recognize a USB drive. It will however, take almost any laptop-size hard drive.
You will gain a better, color display, lighted buttons, 3 voices on right hand, aftertouch, better keys, more dedicated buttons, more patching capability, better sound (I know there will be arguments but I can tell the difference), a mic input control where you can reach it, more factory styles and sounds. I know there is a lot more.
You will lose onboard speakers.

Hi John

Yes, there is a difference in the sound. To me that's the main thing. A full rich tone. Being able to layer 3 right hand sounds.

I really feel that as a player switches from one brand to another that, while sometimes it might seem ackward and more than a bit frustrating in the beginning, that given a little time, this kind of switch will prove to be very favorable.

At first, I actually missed my PSR2000 over the Tyros. After a few weeks I changed my mind on that one too. The 2000 is an excellent kb, but, John one you get used to your Tyros, you're gonna be spoiled forever. haha

Enjoy that new toy. It's great to move into new gadget's and toy's.

John

Too bad I didn't know you were selling your PSR3000. I am pretty much planning on getting either that or possibly a Korg PA50 before the end of the month.
