Request for Steve Deming - 01/06/03 11:03 AM

Steve,
Thanks for all your help on the forum.
Since I sold my 8000 and 9000 I have a very great need for the Karaoke Girl Harmony preset to work right on the 2000.
Customer support sent me intructions last year to customize the Speedy Mouse settings in order to take out the Lead Voice and just leave the Mouse.
I need to be able to do this with the K. Girl, but the same instructions don't seem to work.
Could you please take a crack at this and try to edit the K. Girl so that I can make a User Vocal Preset that works as it should (without the Lead Vocal being heard).
Thanks!

Don,
Off topic, just wanted to let you know your speakers might be there today or tomorrow. If you're in LA it shouldn't take long. Should be 3 to 4 days at the most. Let me know when they get there and if they arrived undamaged.

Don,

Can I assume by "work right" you mean you want to hear the girl voice alone, with none of your voice?

Yes. The same way the 8000 and 9000 works.
I would appreciate it if you can help.
Thanks,

Don,

I've never used this harmony type before. This is one strange effect. You may have to tweak it a little to get the sound you're looking for.

1. In Microphone Setting under Vocal Harmony Control, Pan the Balance control all the way to Harmony.
2. Select Vocal Harmony Type "Karaoke Girl"
3. Press the '8'[^]'EDIT' button
4. Set Harmony Gender Type: AUTO
5. Set Lead Gender Type: OFF
6. Set Lead Gender Depth: -64
7. Set Upper Gender Depth: +64
8. Set Lower Gender Depth: +64

Don't forget to save it when you get it the way you want it.

Hope you like it.

Re: Request for Steve Deming - 01/07/03 09:22 PM

Steve,
Thanks so much! I left my keyboard at the job, but I'll edit it tomorrow.
Let me tell you why this setting is important to me. Although I play most of the time as a single, I also do Nursing Home shows all over the state. My friend Dean Mathis and I do Old-Time Rock 'n Roll and Country shows for the old people.
Dean, his brother Mark, and Larry Henley were the Newbeats and had several big hits back in the 60's. The biggest was "I Like Bread and Butter". Larry did the high part but he is now a very successful songwriter in Nashville (Wind Beneath My Wings!), and is not available to sing it with us, so we rely on the Karaoke Girl for this. We did it on both the 9000 and 8000, and when I got the 2000, we expected the setting to work the same way, but it didn't. I hope this will fix it!
Again, Thanks,
Don
