Song - 02/09/02 08:00 PM

I've searched six or more sites for the lyrics to "It's Magic".
Does anyone have this tune? Doris Day and everyone else sang this in the fifties. Bet Dave, Donny or Tom comes up with this one.
Thanks,
Boo

Boo: Funny coincidence, I just happened to perform this very tune today. Wonderful anniversary song. Great chord changes

It's Magic, Sammy Cahn - lyrics, Jule Styne - music

You sigh the song begins
You speak and I hear violins
It's Magic
The stars desert the skies
And rush to nestle in your eyes
It's Magic

---------------------------------

Without a golden wand
Or mystic charms
Fantastic things begin
When I am in your arms

---------------------------------

When we walk hand in hand
The world becomes a wonderland
It's Magic
How else can I explain those rainbows when there is no rain
It's Magic
Why do I tell myself
These things that happen are realy true
When in my heart I know
The magic is my love for you

-------------------------------------------

btw: I think you remember that Doris Day stills lives in Carmel Valley, right? I wouldn't be surprised if she's been in to catch Sonny G's act.

I had such a crush on Doris Day when I (and she) were YOUNGER!!!!
A little story on Sammy Cahn. When I was a service tech for IBM, back in the 70's, he was one of my customers, in NYC. I use to repair his IBM typewriter. You may remember the song "All That Love Went To Waste" Sammy gave me a copy and autographed it, what he wrote "I wish I had written Misty so I would have a rhyme for Christie".

Thanks Scott,

Dig this! The other day in the local coffee shop in Fruita Co. maybe 5000 people, the coffee gal manager (Bartista, Right?)is sitting with a guy. When I start talking to them I find out he's a piano player that travels all over the USA.

Guess where he's headed to in May. To Carmel to play at the Mission Ranch for the 6:00 to 8:00 dinner hour before Sonny G starts at 8:00. What a small world eh Scott?

He imvited me over to play the Sax with him here in Grand Junction. He a real nice guy also.

You are right Boo. I do know this song. I see Scott beat me to it. In all honesty it has never been one of my favorites. I've never really cared for "Sentimental Journey" or "Stardust" either, but if I had a nickle for ..................!
