To a guitar player who also plays keyboard.. - 07/20/01 03:08 AM

Hi,

I've been wondering if someone who plays keyboard, can read guitar tabs to create more realistic styles or music to play. My next song that I want to record is 'Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of your live)' and it's using the guitar very nice. Can someone tell me if a keyboard player can learn how to play guitar tabs on a keyboard or is this just a totally different thing?

Hi Sander and Robby,

Robby is right and the best way for a keyboardist to record/play play 'guitar-alike' is the digitar or a similar product.

Don't expect playing one is as easy as playing the keys Sander !! (You need some guitar-playing experience)
Reading the guitar-tabs cannot bring you the guitar-sound.

Sander : Your posting's header says the oposite of what you are asking ?!

Robby : It's great you stayed here !!

Sonar Cakewalk does very well in similating the strumming of a Guitar - and there are even examples to start you off. You will find "strum 4th feel", Strums 8th feel", "Strum shuffle" and loads more. Excellent Job by Sonar
