Sad day for me.

Hello to all my friends,
This morning I was awoken by the police informing me that my Dad had been found dead at his house. It appears he passed away sometime during the night.
He lives quite a way from me as I moved with my mum when they divorced years ago.

I am to go back there tomorrow to sort things out with registrars, vicars etc. as I am the eldest child and so next of kin. I am trying to be strong for everyone else, but ask for your thoughts and prayers as this has come as the biggest shock. He was only 59 and we were just laughing over some silly family gossip the other day on the phone.

Am not sure when I will be online over the next few days but if I know you all I know that you will be thinking of me and that will be enough.

Sad news indeed Tony .

My prayers are with you and your family.

In 1981 my Dad died at the age of 57 . I was 17 yrs old . He still lives in my heart and people still talk about him , which keeps his spirit alive .

Dear Tony. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family. I lost my father 6 years ago so understand what a profound loss it is to lose one's father.

Tony. I commend you for being the pillar of strength for your family, but please don't forget to allocate enough time to take care of your own emotional needs as well. Sorry to hear the news my friend... I've been through so much with my own parents it hard to think one day they'll be gone... And what a shock for you... I hope you find strength which you may never knew you had...

Sorry to hear of your sudden loss. Like Scott, I lost my father some years ago and a huge hole was left in my life. But we do find strength from somewhere, and you will too. My sympathies are with you. God bless.

God sends us loved ones and says here enjoy and watch over each other for an unspecified period of time, however one day I will call them back home to me, should I send them to you? Of course he should because though their physical presence may be gone, they live on forever in our minds.

Tony .... My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ... My father passed away 25 years ago and hardly a day goes by that I don't think of him ... He was 64 years old at the time, two years older than I am now, and the older I get the more I realize how young he was when he passed ...

Tony, I am truly sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. We never know what we really have many times until they are no longer with us. This is another reminder that each and every day is precious and to let those we love know that we truly do love them by our words, actions, and true affection towards them.

I am glad your relationship with your Dad was close Tony as it indicates from your post.

Apologies for not replying sooner. Thankyou all so much for your support and kind words. It means an awful lot to me.

Obviously we are all devasated and can find no sense or reason in what has happened. It seems so unfair. We have not had the results of the post mortem yet, and neither has my Dad been released to us and none of this seems real.
