Legal MP3s?

Legal MP3s? - 06/15/03 07:16 PM

I've been checking out mp3 sites I found using the common search engines. Some are $10.00 per year (couldn't be legal) and some are around $10.00 per month with a dollar or so charge per download (each song). I just need a few songs occassionally so the per month fee is not very interesting. I do want to be legal and download only "royalty paid" files. Is there a site where one can obtain legal mp3 downloads on a per title basis without a monthly subscription cost?
Thanks,
Deaton

I think Apple has this service for 99cents per song...over 200,000 songs in library i think

I checked out the Apple site. A Mac computer is required to use that service. I use a PC. A charge of 99 cents and no subscription requirement would be an acceptable cost if available for PC users.
Thanks,

Dea,
Other PC users have voiced their complaints also to apple- I think this should be available to us later this year (I think)

I use allofmp3.com, you can top up with PayPal and often you get a choice in the quality you want to receive. Click on ENGLISH at the top of the page to change default language. They charge just $1 per 100MB of download, can't be bad!
