Going to take some time off....

Going to take some time off.... - 03/24/06 02:25 PM

I decided to take some time off from the various forums I visit several times a day. I'm not sick, and I ain't dying anytime soon that I know of. I'm just not getting all the other things done that I should, therefore in order to accomplish the goals that I've set forth for the next few months I decided to answer emails only and stay away from the forums.

I thoroughly enjoy reading the various posts, and whenever possible, helping others with problems where I have some degree of expertise. Unfortunately, I have been spending the better part of 4 to 5 hours every day on the forums, then performing 1 to 4 hours a day, which left little time for anything else. Therefore, a brief respite of a month or two is in order, during which time I hope to get my sailboat ready for the upcoming sailing season, plus finish a multitude of repairs around the house.

As Arnold Swartznager said "I'll be back!"

Cheers,

Gary

Gary,
That a bummer!
I was thinking about you earlier this week, wondering why I haven't heard much from you lately. Thats a thing I look forward to, whenever I can get out here.

Try to get caught up with whatever it is that you need to get done.

I always get a nickel out of your 2 cents.

Hi Gary
I read your mail on the SVP Forum and left you a note. I then quickly hopped over here to hope that you hadn't left here also, but was disappointed to see that you are leaving here also
However, I know what the problem is from my own experiences. I need the friendship I feel from all these Forums I visit and just HAVE to visit at least once a day and it isn't long before a few minutes runs into an hour or so!
Hope to hear from you soon.
cheers
Eddie J

Gary:

It always helps to "get away" from any activity you enjoy too much. Just don't stay gone too long. Your posts are always either very informative or very funny. Why don't you join us at the Semi-Jam in Shreveport?

Don Mason has promised that consuming mass quantities of "Mudbugs" is not a requirement for attendance.

Hurry back. You are needed!

All my best,

Dave Rice

Gary,
You're stealing away all of the attention I was getting with my problems I expressed here.

If you weren't so smart and more like me people wouldn't be bombarding you with all the tech questions.

A rest from the computer will do you some good. It sure helped me. Use your free fishing lisense.

When you come back don't read all of the post. Just read the 3 or 4 most important to you. After a brief time you'll enjoy being free for a while.

Get your ducks in a row and hurry back...

If Gary is gone longer than a month, I will have the local authorities put out a "Gray" Alert in Key West.

A Gray Alert is the Senior equivalent of an Amber Alert, but for missing seniors. But..uh...in Gary's case, he is a blonde...by choice.

Gary...if you peeked in here..rest easy and get re-charged.

Hey Gary,
I find the need to do just what you are going to do. After 6 plus years in this synthzone and moderating the technics Forum for several of these years, I got really addicted to these forums.
I take a lot of trips in the motorhome and I now leave my laptop home and just take a keyboard. Jann takes her laptop but that is her problem That breaks the cycle. Sometimes I am back home for several days before I crank up the Synthzone again.
One of these days I am not going to come back but just keep on going and I will rap with all you great friends in person and jam everywhere I go.
We once left home in the RV and didn't come back homefor 5 years. That was probably the best 5 years of our marriage.
Keep on Keeping on,
Best to you and yours,
Bebop
