Getting in to NAMM 2005 - 01/10/05 01:56 PM

Greetings -

I noticed that NAMM is here in Southern California (Anaheim) next week and because one of my accordion jazz heroes will be demonstrating the new Roland V-Accordions I thought it would be fun to go. I really want to check out that accordion, too.

I found out through their website that NAMM is really only for music professionals (that is, those who make a living through selling musical equipment) and not for everyday guys like me (performers).

I thought about buying a non-member badge and it was $175!! I couldn't believe it. Membership is $195 per year and includes four free passes to NAMM.

Does anybody know of a legal, cheaper way to get into NAMM?

Thanks.

Tommy...one of my clients will be showing at winter NAMM and, If I can get out of another trade show back east I'm going.

I generally attend all summer shows and about half the winter shows.

If you'll email me with a contact number, I can probably come to the entrance and let you use one of the Q-Lighting badges for a while. My email is MCCI@prodigy.net

Thanks so much, Russ. I really am only interested in the Roland V-Accordions and hearing Frank Marocco demo them is a huge bonus. I just couldn't justify putting out that much cash for about 30 minutes of looking at the show.

I'll email you privately. Thanks again.

Tommy...looks like DanO will be there...you might want to get in touch with him as a back-up. I'll be in and out and we only have 4 badges...you need to try to find out when the demonstrator you want to see will be working so you can coordinate your visit.

Hi Tommy.
I too, have been wondering just how good the V-Acc is, and I am also, a huge fan of Frank. I'm very surprised to hear that he is demoing Roland. One of Petosa's more current accordion models is the "Marocco Jazz" and Petosa still has direct links to Frank's site, bio, etc.

I guess when your that good, everyone wants you!

Hope you make it to the show. Interested in your opinion of the V.
