Wireless connection to keyboard ?

Wireless connection to keyboard ? - 10/15/07 06:52 PM

I am trying to eliminate the wirings to the mics and instruments if possible.

Is there a device that can wirelessly connect to the mixer/amp from the keyboard ?

I also found a wireless mic system that had great reviews for really cheap - any experience with these - link below ?

its possible but not recommended....too many variables ...interferences, drop outs and such....not to mention picking up all kinds of frequency noise.

Found this on the net and since we use it for the keyboard which is stationary - it should work. This is for guitar but I assume it would work great with keyboard.

Has anyone tried it for use in keyboard ?

hi lukitoh, there would be no problem, as it is no different to a guitar body pack, i dont know if you can get them in stereo, but if so that would be the way to go with a keyboard, and both keyboards and guitars have line-level signals..bear in mind though that these are audio only, there are some new midi wireless transmitters but they are still pretty expensive..as for the mics, wireless mics have been used for years now so there would be no issue there either...one thing to be aware of though is that some of the cheaper wireles rigs tend to use a fixed frequency, so just make sure you have no duplicates and off you go
hope that helps,
dennis
PS that information is solid for australia where it is all UHF, but in the states i think vhf is still the band of choice, so it would be worth double checking, BUT if you specify a UHF receiver/transmitter setup you shouldn't have any problems..

Hi

Have been using UHF (app 800 MHz range) systems for years without any problems.

Jørgen

PS: Samson and Sennheiser systems

As long as you use an UHF system, you'l be OK, stay away from VHF systems, maybe cheap, and you'l get what you pay for.
