How Diffucult will be for Logitech............... - 09/10/06 10:43 AM

To make the Z5500's ready for Pro Audio..?
1/4" plugs, mic or spkr stand adapters, etc...
Even if they raise the price it'll be worth it.

I'm not saying Logitech should go into the pro market, but with the success they have had with arranger players and me [ ]......Hummmm.

Maybe we need to invite them to the SynthZone forum?

Don't shoot me, I'm here wathcing football, thinking and wrting crazy ideas...Yes I'm multitasking!

Well they have to keep making the Z5500's, the reviews around the net are great.

I like the Logitech z5500 sub-woofer + satellite speaker concept, but think it sorely lacks important mid frequency presence. I hope Logitech will release a model upgrade to include slightly larger satellites to offer better better mid range frequency response, provide a smoother response across the entire audio spectrum.

If anything guys they should send Gary Diamond a big check, I bet he has caused several hundred people (probably much more) to invest in these little jewels with his inovative adaption to keyboards.

I'll take a percentage of that Gar, if this generates a check.. he he

Scotty:
you're right on with the mid range evaluation, I added a second logitech center speaker daisychained to the system it greatly improved the mid range, also tried removing the logitech center speaker and going straight into a 15" combo results to much mid range, I'm guessing a 8" combo maybe 10" will do the trick, or maybe a bose 5/6" speaker, but I must first chat up me espousa before I buy one or wait for Christmas or something lol...pose

I see a Z5450 on the site that has wireless rear spkrs,
and can be bought for $350..but I don't see anyone
discussing those..just the z5500..are they less suitable
for live music?

I think wireless even whenthey say the latency is not a problem, I'll worry, and interference could be a problem too[ maybe?]

Scott,

A friend gave me an Optimus PRO CS-2 Center speaker enclosure that has 3 4-inch spakers. It's small, lightweight, 30-watts RMS (60-watts peak) anb the mids will blow you away. Now I have to figure a way to place it in my Z-5500 bag.

Cheers,

Gary

Gary,

Does radio shack still have that available for sale? Did a search at the RS site and nothing came up.

I'm not sure if they still have them. The catalog number is 40-4058.

Good Luck,

Gary

I don't have nice friends that give me center channel speakers. I was thinking about the bose as a center channel.

Re: How Diffucult will be for Logitech............... - 09/11/06 07:48 PM

Actually it wasn't Gary Diamond (sorry Gary) who started this whole Logitech thing. It was forum member Jimmy who attended the San Jose jam a couple of years ago. Jimmy are you still around? He introduced them to those attending. When Eric B. and I commented on the forum how good they sounded we were greeted with jeers and skepticism.

Gary Diamond did his wonderful tweeking to the concept complete with speaker stands and gym bag to haul it around. Gary, I still use the gym bag to transport mine. Then after refining the Z2200s Gary started with the Z5500s and worked his magic there also. Just a little history friends.

Jimmy's the guy that first tried the Z-2200. After reading the post, I tried them the next day, used them for about 6 months, gave them to my son and purchased the Z-5500 system. While I use the Bose L1 for nearly all my jobs, the Z-5500s still get used about once a week, especially at venues that are relatively small.

Cheers,

Gary
