Home Recording - 11/04/00 06:17 PM

Hi All,
I have made a couple of recordings on my Yamaha MT400 4track.

Does anyone know the easiest way to get them off the tape and onto the PC? The idea is to get them onto the pc and then onto cd as the pc has a cd rw.

I have been told that it is best to buy a specific cdr unit seperate from a hi fi store but was hoping to avoid this as it seems a waste if I already have one on the pc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated from this technophobe

ttfn

My advice would be to skip the tape entirely and record the keyboard output directly into the record in line on your PC soundcard as a .WAV file.

Of course you could record the tape the same way but unless you have to there is no need to lose quality by first going to tape.

Thanks Nigel,

I will try this for the stuff without audio. In the past when I have tried to record audio from the line in of my sound card it sounds awful.

Maybe that has more to do with the fact that I got my souncard free from a bloke who knew a bloke who was given it by a chap called Moses, when he traded his pc for a couple of tablets of stone

many thanks
