Is this cool or what???

Man how cool is this!!?? As many of you know I recently purchased a Fostex MR-8B digital 8 track recorder. It's newest version with the updates.

Well I won't go into detail on all the amazing features this unit packs into a box for under $300.00

When I bought it I paid $299.00 for the unit. Well MusiciansFriend has a 45 day price match. Luckily I happened to be on their site today and saw the unit selling for $249.00! That's $50.00 less than I paid.

I called them, they honored the 45 day price match and refunded $50.00 on that purchase! Now I got this killer little 8 track for only $250.00

Aside from my little savings here..., seriously folks... this is an awsome recorder, and now for only $250.00 it's well worth every penny spent.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I have a Fostex MR8 HD on the way. I got it on Ebay. The neatest thing about it is that it will record four tracks simultaneously.

Squeak , you have less in the unit than the dealer cost...

Don have fun with the HD version. That's a really good unit. It has great reviews. I likd the HD option, but for my small recording needs the MR-8B works for me.

When you originally said $300, I wondered about that because I had seen them going for $250 after the one with the hard drive came out. Don, hey, I know to use that baby... assuming it has the same controls my MR-8 has. I want a large CF card for mine. At least 1GB but they also make a 2GB one. That's overkill but... you could record probably an entire gig.

Yeah the RED version was going for $249.00 It was the black version that was selling for $299.00 I didn't like the color of the red unit, and the black unit was recent and updated.

Check out the Tascam DP-01. It was $399 I got it for $339 last year it is now $299 and it has I think a 40Gig HD.
I kinda gave up on recording. I find it frustrating. I can use that time to practice and improve my playing.
Maybe I'll change my mind later.

The Tascam isn't bad, but here's two drawbacks. 1-No backlit display, and it's small, 2-No effects of any kind. It's basically 8 tracks with a hard drive and all effects have to be brought in externally.
