Local Rep says Tyros2 not on East Coast until Jan 06!

I called my local dealer for a price and availability on the Tyros2. He got back to me and said the Yamaha Rep said delivery and availability on the East Coast of the US will not be until January of 2006!!!

This is the same as with the Tyros1. It was announced in October, some folks saw it in November/December, and I got mine in January.

This is not good news!

I agree, but Dan0 says he can have a T2 in his customer's hands by the end of next week.

What gives, Yamaha?

I spoke this morning with DanO while ordering PA1X Pro... he said I can probably expect both of my KB's by the end of next week.
On the other hand "my" local dealer wants MSRP+ and says he won't have them until sometime next year...
I'm sticking to DanO's story and keeping my fingers crossed

Here's what I've been told. If your dealer had pre-ordered the Tyros2 from Yamaha USA early enough, then their order would have been likely included among the first shipment batch of Tyros2's coming from Yamaha Japan, and it wouldn't matter WHERE in the US they were located (West Coast, East Coast, Mid West, etc), they'd receive their T2's late Oct/early Nov, as officially announced by Yamaha. Dan O'Neil obviously placed his inital Tyros2 order far enough in advance to be among the first T2's shipped.

Al, I suspect your dealer simply had not placed a pre- order for Tyros2, and that Tyros2 orders placed NOW, are at this point, now simply back-ordered (at Yamaha Japan) till after Christmas.

Scott, that sounds very plausible at this point. If I still can't decide between the G70, Pax1pro, or Tyros 2, how the heck could I have pre-ordered!!! Oye Vay.
