Yamaha Styles on X1

Yamaha Styles on X1 - 05/01/00 05:44 AM

Hi,

I want to thank Fran and anyone else who was involved with the conversion of the Yamaha styles for use on the X1. I emailed Fran asking for them and had them in my mailbox within a couple of hours. Thank you very much.

When I use these styles I only get the first two variations A and B. When I use C and D they are silent. Are they supposed to work this way or did I do something wrong?

Thanks

Tom

On Yamaha PSR models prior to the PSR-9000, 740, 640 (e.g., since about a year ago), we only had AB variations. It is only on these newer models that we now have ABCD variations. Thus, the vast majority of user styles and most internal styles in circulation only have AB.

Additionally, at our egroups site, people have made conversions of the ABCD styles for the newer PSRs to AB for the older ones. Anyone who wants to do EMC conversions for the X-1 so it will have ABCD should make sure they are using a set of new styles that have not been converted from ABCD to AB.

Thus, it is likely the styles you are using on your X-1 are only made to have AB.

Tom,
I'm not certain what the styles were that Dano sent, but all the Yamaha PSR8000 styles, and all the Technics KN5000 styles were already on your HD. As I recall, they were in a folder dedicated to them.
All the Yamaha styles up to the x40/9000 generation only had two variations.

Hi,

These are converted 9000 styles. I believe they should have 4 variations.

Thanks

Fran sent me KN3000 styles by mistake. He has since sent me the Yamaha styles. I'll try them tonight. Thanks Fran!
