Andrea,
Do you remember the 'video-demo' by the German trying to speak English? .....

btw. What is wrong with a Dutch accent ? LOL

Did you try all the R&B styles of T2?.... fantastic.

Re: Michel Voncken - Tyros2 Video - 11/06/05 05:56 AM

I enjoyed the video ......but I would have liked to see and hear more of the styles themselves NOT the Intros/Endings .....typical Yammy......but in the right hands the KB does sound great.

Re: Michel Voncken - Tyros2 Video - 11/06/05 07:06 AM

Roel,
what I found interesting about Michael is that he spells his name like the french do and not "Mikail", like a german would do.
And, yes, I love the T2 R&B styles; did you find a way to use all those wav. loops together with a style?

Re: Michel Voncken - Tyros2 Video - 11/06/05 07:07 AM

"More of the styles" ?
In that case the video would take > 24 hours!

Just curious : Dnj, what brand does match your demands ? (video's, demo's, sounds and styles)

Re: Michel Voncken - Tyros2 Video - 11/06/05 07:36 AM

Roel......
dont get me wrong the Yammys in the right hands sound ok...I should know I perform almost every night with one & honestly with workarounds, experience & patience I make it all come together the best I can......videos and presentations like the one above to me are geared like a used car sales man advertisement...sure the inros & ending are great & used as a selling ploy, but its the guts of the styles & variations that real musicians need to use to play songs to make a living with an arranger KB....I will say it again.....these KB's are a "Very Personal" thing to EACH PLAYER, who do it all differently....To just generalize it all and say this is great, that is the best is pure hogwash....my ears tell me whats best for me period. When people tell me they have the best I simply say "lets hear what ya got" then I make a decision based on what is produced. As for videos/demos [which is why I always ask players to post] give me the real HONERST thing with out the frills from real every day players, not some hyped up boloney.......years agao Dan O put out a great X1 Video Demo....simply produced in laymans terms and to the point addressing many features that really helped the player. What brand fits my criteria you ask? .....The one I feel comfortable with, does what I need playing and making a living with everyday regardless of what anyone says is the best
I hope everyone is happy in the choices & quests for Shangrila

Don't get me wrong, Michel Voncken
is one heck of a talented guy but he
reminds me of the days of the Vegamatic
commercials on TV (you have to be old like
me to go back that far). The Salesman could
slice and dice Tomatoes, shred Cabbage etc
to perfection with that $2 machine. When
you got the Machine all you could do was
slice and dice your fingers. I guess the
point I'm trying to make is that Voncken
could make a $69 Casio sound state of the art.
Speaking of Old Times - did you see the
Sneakers Michael was wearing (pedal demo).
Could they be the new T2 Sneakers from
Nike.

Andrea,

you spend to much time with the T2 and get all confused
Ceck your spelling:"what I found interesting about Michael is that he spells his name like the french do and not "Mikail", like a german would do".

His name is: "Michel"
Without an "a" = the dutch spelling.

The german spelling is with an "a" Michael

Mikail is Russian or polish I believe

BTW,

the question came up several times regarding wave ROM of the T2.
Michel does state the the new T2 has over 300MB of wave ROM.

ERIC,
I am looking in the manuel in the specifications and it states as follows:
pre-installed memory size 4 MB
Additional Memory 1024 MB
Moving down to: Ram Capacity per style approx 120KB
ram Capacity per song approx 300KB
Internal flash Memory for user drive is 3.2 MB

Cool sneakers.Yes he could make a 70.00 board sound like a million, the impression I thought of too.like when he did the Demo Video for the 3000,and showed you the Voice sound of the Guitar nylon, and Overdrive,in Mega Voice with his right hand with no style on,no song,How did he do that? Is it false Advertising?Tweaked big time,he does not tell you? Nor does Yamaha. But the manual said you can not do that?some guys say you can ,Tweaking,No luck in the Dept.Where Is The Demo Of Him Now?Can't find it?I sent a Email to Yamaha, waiting on their answer on How did he do that, sounds like a TV program. Some guys say I should of Looked into this before Buying?but when you see and hear it It sucked me in Hook line and sinker.Oh well so much beating this subject to death.Waiting for Guitar Center S.J to get the T2 in,maybe in Dec.Tony said.May not see the T2 in this house for 1-2 yrs.unless I Trade my KN6000,and 30000 if the T2 cuts out to be what I have seen, and heard, but not in person.Take care.Simon really Does good on his little Demo he sharing with us.

Re: Michel Voncken - Tyros2 Video - 11/06/05 01:54 PM

Hi Bob

we're talking different things here:

"pre-installed memory size 4 MB": refers too additional sound samples you can install.

"Additional Memory 1024 MB": referes too 2 Dimms you can install to get your sound sample library up too 1GB of additional sounds that you can install.

The rest is self explainatory.

What I was refering to is not in the manual.
George Kay asked Yamaha the question how many MB of wave rom for "all" the sounds in the T2. They said because they are compressed it's hard to come up with a number.

I guess if they were not compressed it would be around 300MB of sound RAM that's what Michel was trying to say.

So we're talking total MB used to create all the sounds in the T2.

I hope this clarifies it for you.

Andrea,

"... wait when you get yours! "

I already have an emergency plan worked out with Claudia that's in place.
It happened to me before. This time we are prepared......

That's right Eric. I also hear him pronounce his name as "Me-shell" as in the French which I always thought was a female name, as in "Michelle ,ma belle, sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble"
cheers
