Well, here are the bad news for europeans PAS lovers. The prices of the toy...:

- Single bass package (L1, PS1, B1) - EUR 2950 (GBP 2000) including VAT
- Bass module (B1) - EUR 450 (GBP 300) including VAT

You'll find the official explanation for these prices here .

This system really seems interesting.

Do you know anything about the Bose PAS maximum power output? I didn't find anything about "Watts"!

It's a 750 Watt (3 x 250) system. -- José.

Wow!

But what about Stereo?... Can I assume that the single bass package is "mono"?

As you know, I'm still looking for a new PA, looking for the best choice.

What would say you between these choices:
HK Audio Lucas 600 VS (2) EV SXA360 VS Bose PAS system

It's a mono system. Do a search in this forum or, better, in the Bose PAS forum if you want to learn about this long stereo/mono discussion... -- José.

Luis,
I can't make such comparison, as I only know the first of these three systems. I never auditioned the PAS as you might imagine, but I'm very curious about it, as it's a new concept. The price is something that is slowing down my curiosity, of course . I don't know how the EVs sound; I had the opportunity to test the "old" SX100A(s) and I think the LUCAS system sounds better.

So that's why we get ripped off in Europe!

Clearly in the US you get totally uncertified products. Also it must cost lots of money to change the plug on the power supply (given that most modern power supplies use switch mode technology that copes with input voltages from 80 to 250v without adjustment).

grrr

Hi. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe what you say is only true for "small" power supplies, not power supplies that have the power requirements of the PAS. But yeah, the price is sad and certainly cools me down...

I'm sorry but this "reason" for their price in Europe doesn't wash with me. There are plenty of US products available here in the UK which are competitively priced and you don't have to quote prices with VAT as long as you tell people that it isn't included.

There is no doubt that Bose are top notch products but I would argue that Yamaha are as well and if the Japanese can sell products in Europe which are cheaper than in the US even including the VAT why can't Bose at least be more cometitive with their pricing here.

Just thought I'd have a moan 'cos I can't afford their stuff.......
