Lately several people, young and old, have been asking me what kind of keyboard would I recommend for a beginner. One question came from a parent of a 6 yr old. Another from a 70+ lady who has been recently widowed. This lady does play piano, but wanted to learn to play an arranger.

I had a couple of old Roland E-20s laying around and introduced the older lady to it...but all the buttons were confusing and she could not grasp the concept. I suspect that may hold true for a 6 year old as well.

Anyone have any ideas? I suspect Casio has some that would be appropriate, but I am not familiar with any of the Casio products.

Eddie,

I have played both small Casio's and Yamaha's when I was young and also have seen kids playing them without much trouble. I always thought Yamaha sounded better.
