2100 mp3 songs? - 11/01/03 04:27 AM

Hi to all,

Recently, I have seen a page with a lot of songs played in KN7000: some are Technics files, but some are mp3 files!!. It is great, specially for people which can't see and play a KN7000 in their town: listening these mp3 songs, they may have a good panoramic of actual sound of this keyboard.
To see: http://mysite.freeserve.com/willumspages/page6.html

Is there something similiar for PSR2100? I would like to know where can I find and download mp3 songs played in PSR2100. Not Yamaha demos, nor midi songs.

Cheers

Artaher

Yes, it is a nice site, but.... I can't find mp3 songs there, it seems to me all songs are midi, not mp3!!. So, they must be listened into PSR2100.
I ask for mp3 songs (not midi), that you may listen in a computer or a mp3 player.
Thanks

Hi Artaher,

I had made Moon River from my PSR-2100 in MP3, but I don't have any web site to put it. So I coul send you by E-mail but I don't thing it will be ok with hotmail. Do you have another e-mail ??

I do the song very simplest, only with the inside style "Guitar Serenade".
Live .... the mistake on the melody came free with it lol.

Artaher

Don't know if these are the type of songs you are after but I've just uploaded a bunch of mp3s of recordings made on the 2000 over the past year or so.
I've already made midi versions of these songs available over at Joe Water's PSR Tutorial site, but if you'd like to hear the mp3s please feel free to download and listen to any of the songs.
All songs are instrumental cover versions sequenced on the 2000 either 'live' or multitracked, most using the on board styles of the keyboard.
Remember I am an amateur player with only a few years experience on the PSRs, if you are looking for some pro stuff you'll need to ask some of the other guys here.

Hope you find a couple to your taste

Hey Will,

Your songs sound great!

The great guitar sound on Geronimo, the slow funky groove for This Guys In Love, Sonny James' Young Love, I haven't heard that song in years (one of my parents' favorites), the soft sax on Long and Winding Road....

Some real nice stuff here. The PSR2000 sounds great. Thanks for the offerings!

Mike, Artaher, Dazart

Many thanks for the comments guys, glad you enjoyed the music.
Have just uploaded some of my original songs in mp3 format if anyone is interested. Once again these have been sequenced on the 2000 over the past year and like the previous covers have also been posted as midi files on Joe's PSR Performers pages.

Will, very good original songs and its arrangements. If I may tell something about, there are perhaps, for my ears, too much drums, too much rhythm; it make your songs a little "similar" ones to others because I listen always very similar drums. I know, all your songs are pop music, and Yamaha styles are too much rhytmic and "drummed" but... may be some of your songs would be nicer (less repetitive) mutting one of the two rhythm tracks (or with less volume), have you tried it?.

A little question about:
What about copyright of your original songs?
How do you know nobody go to take these songs and make them own? Have you these songs registered or something like this?

Cheers

I would thank Will Stewart for putting here the link to his original songs made in PSR2000.
Usually, we may listen and download songs played by keyboardists, but not original songs.
Will is the first person I know has offered here original songs, and not one or two: a lot more.
In my opinion, the best thing to make with an arranger kb is to COMPOSE MUSIC.
Will made it, and it sounds very well.
Thanks Will

Bluebird, Artaher

Thanks once again for the comments guys.

Bluebird ... to be honest I use styles for the biggest majority of my songs and while I will occasionally revoice or alter some of the instrument voices in a style I do tend to leave the drums as they are. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, will give it some thought in my future songs.

Artaher ... when I started playing the PSR it was all cover version I would play. As I got to know the keyboard a bit better I began writing my own songs and found I got more enjoyment from doing so. I agree with you when you say its the best thing to do with these kekboards.
I have posted some of my songs in various forums and find some listeners prefer my originals whereas others prefer to listen to songs they recognise. My output is roughly 50/50 these days.

Thanks again

I listened all your songs. I like very much some of them. Usually, I like more songs with less rhythm and drums, you know.
For example, I like very much:
"One Year On"
"New Age Live"

Congratulations!

Will, curious to know why you never use piano voice at right hand (melody) in your great original songs.

Perhaps you donīt like PSR2000 piano voice, or you dont'like piano at all...

But, we need a soft ballad, with piano voice, from you...

Cheers

Artaher

The 2000 piano voices aren't too bad but I don't consider myself a great pianist. Can get away with most of the other instruments but my piano playing still sounds a bit amateurish.
Will put a piano ballad on my to do list for the future. Thanks again to you and Don for the interest in my songs
