what was/is the best looking keyboard in your oppinion? - 07/15/07 10:26 PM

along the years, there were many nice looking keyboards that i am sure made you want to look at them again and again, not just playing them (maybe they weren;t that good sounding anyway) and i'd like to see which those keyboards were?

for me, i think psr 7000 is still the best one. http://www.premierorgans.co.uk/PSR7000prem.jpg
followed by ketron x1 http://www.hauwasser.de/assets/images/ketronx1.jpg
and roland E60 - which i curently own. http://www.maxmusic.co.za/UserFiles/Image/E60.jpg

If we're not talking just arrangers, then I must say the Prophet T-8 is a real looker.

How about the professional look of the Yamaha DX-7, and the Roland JX-10...

Boards that were designed for "pro' users

For me, design is important if too bad (I mean, my wife could veto a specific keyboard based on its design being so bad it couldn't fit our house, even if I told her its sound was brilliant...).

But I think Korg does the best job on keyboard design, being it an arranger or a synth. Sounds good, too.

Hi.

If we're talking about "eyecandy", I would wote for
Technics KN6000/KN6500.
The design is/was a pleasure for the eyes.
The new Audya looks nice too, a kind of "streamlined"....
(Also Liontracks looks very nice)

Happy Playing!

Best looking keyboard I ever saw was when my Dad surprised me with a Farfisa (14 years old).

Best looking today still remains the B.

Guys - Back to my roots. Oh I loved this thing.

Paid $1400.... "gave it away" in mint condition for $350. Now how I WISH I had it back. It was a faithful and very welcome friend...

Were we separated at birth? My dad bought me a Farfisa ComboCompact (red-black) and then followed it up with an Ampeg B18n. What a setup that was - pedals too. Those were the days. Didn't sell it until well into the 80's.

I've always loved the look of the B3, but hated the pedals and lack of reverb.
