Just got my second G-70

Just got my second G-70 - 08/08/06 06:58 AM

Just acquired a new G-70 now I have two of these amazing keyboards. I have an addiction to musical equipment as seen in this small list of my gear. I’ve tried other hobbies but nothing takes the place of a new musical instrument. I know that there are others with this same sentiment. You only live once and can’t take it with you so be happy. PS I'm very hard headed when it comes to instruments I make a lot mistakes but enjoy every minute.

10 mics including Crown, EV, Sennheiser and Shure
4 Bass guitars including an electric upright.
3 guitars Fender, Martin and D’Aquisto
5 Barbetta speakers 2 31’s, 2 32’s, 1 41c
1 Ketron Midjay
1 Yamaha PSR 2000
1 Yamaha PSR 3000
1 Nord Keyboard
2 Roland G-70’s
1 Music pad pro
3 TC Helicon powered monitors
3 mixers
3 Amps Guitar, Keyboard and Bass
2 complete PA systems Samson and Kustom
Numerous other stuff loaded out and I can’t remember where.

I would guess something like;
personal mail request/reply?

which makes some sense in the context.

playing detective and looking up PMR on Google and Google images brings back some sort of Walkie Talkie, maybe this is how Donny and Fran keep in touch? http://www.audioline.de/images/high/PMR%20easy%20010.jpg

Fender made it. I heard this but not sure, that they were not made very long because of the death of the designer of this model Jimmy D’Aquisto. The owner of this guitar was a very accomplished guitarist and good friend of mine, he left it to me when he passed away.

Re: Just got my second G-70 - 08/09/06 06:04 AM

Actually I tried to like Hank's PMY, and I did, other than the sound, styles, operating system and weight. In other words, it LOOKS o.k.

DonM

P.S. O.K. guys, that's intended as a JOKE, mostly.

Re: Just got my second G-70 - 08/09/06 02:22 PM

Just a little curious as to why two G70s? (one to gig and one at home?)

I got to say (and I expect a lot of razzing for saying this!), I agree that a Tyros2 would be a far better addition to that equipment list.......

(maybe you can trade it to Donny when he changes his mind again if you set it up for him........ just kidding, Donny!)

Diki.....many of us, myself included at times use two Identicle Kb's....
eg: backup, setting up at two gig locations for a tight double, & even data transfer convienience between home & stage via a storage portable device......two Kbs is a common practice.

Re: Just got my second G-70 - 08/09/06 02:49 PM

HankB has a wife who not only sings better than he does, but also plays the keyboard better than he does. Maybe it's for her. Or maybe he will use it for a boat anchor. Naw, probably for her.

As long as he doesn't use it as a boat anchor for her!!

(Donny, I wished I had your life....... Two identical $4k arrangers is a bit much for a tight double, for me!! Glad you noticed the 'just kidding', BTW!)
