Stereo output cable help

Stereo output cable help - 01/20/02 06:43 PM

I have a Yamaha PSR keyboard, and I'm trying to connect it to my computer's soundcard. The soundcard has a single (one-hole) stereo input jack. What is the proper way to get the stereo output of the keyboard into this soundcard? I notice that the main outs of the keyboard are labeled "R", and "L/L+R", or something to that effect. What exactly does L+R mean? Is that in stereo, or mono? If it's stereo, would a regular "instrument cable" do the job? Or does that take mono only? Thanks in advance.

HI: Marck
The L+R is for mono connection.
You can get an adapter to go from 2 mono
cables L, R to 1 mini-jack stereo to plug into
the sound card of computer.
Hope this helps

Hi,
The sockets on the back of your keyboard are:
L/L+R= (L):The Left Stereo channel to be combined with the (R):Right stereo channel,
(to be used with a stereo AMP).

"OR" L+R:Left & Right channels mixed together "in mono" to be used with a mono AMP

You need 1/4" Mono Jack plugs one end to a stereo jack the other end. You can use adaptors as dlstarry suggested. I hope this helps.
