Looking for Muisc Stand/holder

Hi Everyone!

As you know I just purchased a double keyboard stand for my Psr2000 which is on the top and my controller keyboard on the bottom. I have this very low to the ground as I sit and play. I have the PSR tilted down to see the screen etc and can not use the music holder anymore. Does anyone know which adjustable music stand will reach over the top of a double keyboard? I would need something with a heavy small base not the tripod base(it won't fit behind the keyboard stand I already tried) Maybe a Mic style base? It would have to be 48inches to the top of the neck then adding the desk. Specs at the online stores don't give the height adjustments. Anyone know which brands extend that high? Or a better option for holding music in front of you?

Maybe my toy poodle could do this? Nah, she runs to the back door when I play.

I was going to suggest the Tripod base with flexible music sheet holder (tilts forwad and backward, and you can slide it up and down). I just bought one which I use for my lyrics and I really like it, but I guess for what you need, you may have to make a special order!

I may have to take a trip to Guitar Center again with my earplugs on and see what theiy have. Still if anyone knows of a brand that will work let me know. thanks.

It may be difficult to find a stand that meets your requirements and still have a small "footprint". In a similar situation, I have used a triple keyboard stand. Then cut a board to fit the top tier to hold your music. You can even clamp a lamp to it to illuminate your music. This setup can be tilted slightly toward you, and will hold several books at once.
On a related subject, I have had real difficulty using the PSR2000 music rack. If I wiggle the keyboard much at all, I find myself picking the rack, music book, etc., up from the floor.

Qicklok makes a music stand that attaches to a kb stand. It has an "l" shape to it, and a clamp that grabs just about anything. GC should have a catalog with pictures. I have one that I don't use .... if you like the unit and the price is too high, I'll sell you mine for less than theirs. (It's just like new - came from a studio that I liquidated)

Yeah, Dave, that will work and then to won't be necessary to change keyboard stands.

I had bad experience with the Quiklok music stand attachment because its clamps got loosen very easily and the top keyboard on the second tier of the keyboard stand prevented proper positioning of the music stand attachment and made score reading very difficult. I like sturdy metal music stand with adjustable folding legs. I bought some from local Mars Music and they are fairly easy to cope with tight placement situation as you have indicated.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I did get a stand that works great. I ended up with Paul Ip's suggestion (Thanks Paul). I went down to my local music store and they had a Hamilton stand (KBID) very sturdy with a flat base to it so it fits nicely under the Ql642. I could not figure out where I would clamp on a music holder on the second teir so that idea would not work for this stand. Thanks Uncle Dave for the offer though.

DonM, I could not use the yamaha music stand either. I wonder what they were thinking when they designed that keyboard!

Anyways, I appreciate all your efforts to help me and it pushed me into the right direction. I have been playing the PSR all day today. I am having a great time now that I can read the music. I even got one of the clamp on lights. Good thing I am short and sitting down or this stand wouldn't be tall enough! ha-ha

I used to have a "home made stand" that worked great for me.
It is very simple, I bended a piece of aluminum or sheet metal in the shape of a sheet/book holder with a ledge on the bottom.
Drilled a hole in the top and mounted it on a standard mic pole.
Cheap, very sturdy and you can make it in any size you want to.
