Sound Effects & Music Library - Horror - 02/26/05 09:23 PM

I have been asked to do a soundtrack for a production play. It has to be a scary / tense / don't-know-what-to-expect soundtrack.

I'm finding it very hard to search for the kind of music and sound effects I need as I'm not sure how to describe what I'm looking for in my internet searches. If you watch some of the horror trailers in iTunes you would get an idea of what kind of sound I am looking for. The sound has to be professional, full, fat on bottom and high quality.

Can anyone direct me?
Thank you,
Chony

You can get sound effects CDs.

I don't know where you'd get them, I'd guess at fancy dress / joke shops; Theatrical supplies; show music stores; DJ supplies?

What equipment are you using for this? Are you using software (capable of loading samples), or using a keyboard (with sampling). Good thick orchestral voices work great for intesnse sound tracks That along with sound effects work great.
