For those who may not know the above noted version including audio input has been released.

Good news, Frank. Is the audio one of "your inputs"?

Clif Anderson, I hate taking credit and it is so long ago (August) but I think so. Even the authors like this feature given one of them is also a guitarist. He can now generate noise with things like Amplitude, etc.

Just as a bit of advice for those who wish to use VoiceMachine or DecaBuddy, you need to ensure that it is not a wrapped version, e.g., by Cakewalk VST Adapter. A clean unwrapped VST version will ensure the midi notes arrive safely to provide the harmony.

It would be the first time I might be able to sing in tune - Oh, Oh!!! This assumes I can hit the right notes on the midi keyboard controller? An old man can only do one thing at time. I'll test it and let you know the results - the technical results that is.

I noticed on their website that they're offering a 10 day fully functional Demo version of Auto-Tune 3. For those interested in seeing what this Pitch Correction software can do, the fully functional 10 Day (from first use) Demo makes it very convenient. NOTE: Your PC "MUST" have a MIDI interface to use Auto-Tune 3's midi features and properly configured system level software to allow MIDI communication with your host application.

Also worth mentioning is if you own a MAC and decide to purchase Auto-Tune 3 you will end up paying at least $90 more and possibly up to $270 more than you would for it if you owned a PC instead. They really gouge MAC owners. Too bad.

Mike, yes that is the tricky part but this won't be the first time or the last that I wasted money and time - oh well. You can, of course, use Antares software to correct pitch after you have done your recording. If you go live then you need to have everything properly connected with your keyboard and the host software.

This will be interesting for me to see if Sonar 3 will work live with Antares. In all my other tries, I could not get the midi notes to the effects (VoiceMachine, etc.). forte should work ok - we'll see.

I deinstalled v1.2 and installed v1.3
When I load Roland VSC, the sound is very
echoey, and the track levels seem out of balance when I play a midi file. Version 1.2 sounded fine.
I have a factory (crap) soundcard.
Any suggestions?

Vquestor, both the Edirol VSC and the Hyper Canvas should sound very good with version 1.3.

So.......

I don't know what is happening. It almost sounds like to much reverb - but that would have been the case in version 1.2 as well. I assume you have setup your soundcard appropriately (WDM or ASIO) as well as the outputs. You did the right thing by uninstalling version 1.2. The best thing would be not to use a version 1.2 .rcf file and rather create a new forte file.

If everything fails send the Brainspawn your log file and explain the problem. They will come up with a solution.

I got the Antares Auto-Tune 3 Professional Pitch Correction DX effect and gave it a test run in forte. Well it is an excellent piece of software except it does not work on my system - Oh My!!! - Yet!!!

Whenever I setup the appropriate port and channel, I get an error message to the effect that I need a multi-client midi driver. When I take down Kontakt which is on the same port and channel, Auto-Tune works. So..... a search for the cure is on!!!

I would have to say though that Auto-Tune has absolutely no noticiable delay. The voice comes thru very clear and of good quality. Is it worth all the money? Well, it depends. If you have pitch problems, it may be.

I hope it works out for me. You see not everything I do turns to gold but I work at it and eventually I end up with a working stable system.

No Vquestor, I think I will stay with the soft stuff. I don't know what I would do in my old age if I couldn't fiddle with technology. Fiddle with a fiddle - no not good enough for that!!! It is the combination of technology and art that gets me excited.

A cure for Antares has been found. If I install a small connection/thru program from MusicLab and set the outputs of the Audio In and Kontakt to the same say Midi Yoke 2 everything works in forte. So why didn't it just accept my VSL2020 port directly in the first place? I just don't know!!!

Which would I pick? DecaBuddy is my choice. It is reasonable price and works and sounds the best.
