Increasing sampling RAM on PSR2000? - 11/10/01 07:15 AM

Hi,

PSR900 (and 900 pro) has a expansion capatibility, and for example, onboard sampling RAM can be increased up to 65 Mb using pairs of conventional SIMMs.

I don't know if new PSR2000 has that capability also. If the answer is YES, will it open PSR2000's voices to the possibility of sounding exactly than PSR9000 -that has more MB for voices-? Then, will one of major differences between both kbs disappear?

Now you are asking way to much from the PSR2000! There is no sampling ram and there is no way to add sampling ram. This keyboard is a $1200.00 keyoard not a $4000.00 keyboard. Although the interface works much like the 9000, it is still more similar to the 740 in sounds than the 9000. The piano for example is like the 740 piano and not like the 9000 pro. This is because of the amount of rom designated to create the piano. I still think it is by far the best new product in a long time, but high end keyboards still are high end keyboards!

Yes, you are right, George, I am asking too much from PSR2000.

But you say, my doubt is: what is better for me, PSR2000 or VA5? I like PSR, it seems nice and easy to work with it. But, in my soul deepth, I think sounds and styles are better on VA5. Perhaps PSR is best buy if buying whith hearth, and VA5 is better if buying whith mind.

Thinking and doubting about, my hearth fights against my mind, and I can't sleep. But I need a kb, and not next year!!!

Thanks a lot for your help, George
