Ketron x1 - 10/23/01 10:16 PM

I have seen the pattern BACHATA on the x1(internal Patterns). If possible can anyone email me the pattern. I would like to start playing more latin music at gigs and I think soltan is the only company that has that style/pattern. thanks

One of the main reasons Bachata is such a great style on the X1 is due to the "groove" track which is used when you play this file. The "groove" track is the actual sampled playing of the Latin instruments. If you mute this track the great feel is lost. If you tried to load Bachata into a different brand of keyboard you would not have the groove track and therefore the great "feel" of this style would be diminished .

George,
I couldn't have said this any better. To spice this up, even if you went ahead and recorded a SONG (SONG REC) on the X1/SD1 using the BACHATA pattern (which will Save as a GM file), you would be loosing close to 70% of it (esp when you use Arr C & D) when you attempt to playback this song on another keyboard. The Grooves track (9) will not be well interpreted unless if played back in another SD1/X1.
Just as other manufacturers have expanded on GM (TECHN=NX, ROLND=GS, YAM-XG, GEM=RASS etc), KETRON's 'Real Drums' are unique to KETRON ... they just have not named their standard yet.
With all these new formats, is GM 'dying'?
