New Os will come in this month as Roland guy says. I hope that the new version can read sample waves. Roland, I think, must do it. When they say G70 a music workstation, this is a big mistake on the name, cos' it can not read waves.
Roland, listen to us!!!

Dear BBC;

I should a "workstation"(WS) not only be able to play waves, but alos Mp3s, Akai s1000/3000? Should a WS also have a CD-R/DVD and a HD?

What do others think that should be mandatory both software & hardware wise when the term "workstation" is used by a manufactuerer?

Regards;

Re: G70 Upgrade - 03/16/05 01:42 PM

I think that today, with the new technology, the name of workstation means software and hardware able for people to manipulate or modify/work on sounds, mixing, loop, sampling sounds, etc... Fantom X is a workstation as the same as Motif. The capability of "workstation" is better than the keyboard with which one you can play direcly for a great pleasure as Organ Yamaha Stagea or Atelier from Roland. Just put the button and play! For my opinion, a G-70 is a playstation, not for working as I said above, even it has a sequencer. I think that Roland can change the OS for adding the capability of reading mp3 or something else with 40Mb left inside.
