Roland styles to Yamaha - 12/28/01 02:13 AM

Need help with converting some of my custom Roland styles (G600) to work with my 9Kpro. If anyone knows the best way to do this either by software or other means please let me know. Thanks.

Geona,
You can buy the conversion software, or you can probably find the styles already converted at PSR Styles Group.
But, a word of advice--give the Yamaha styles a chance before you start converting.
Very often, when we get a new keyboard, we miss certain features or styles that we had before. I feel this is usually because we are accustomed to hearing them. We buy a new keyboard, and immediately start trying to make it sound like the one we replaced.
I have been guilty of this many times.
Play with the new one awhile, and fully explore all the preset styles and the Yamaha styles available freely on the internet. (Particularly the CVP styles.)
Then, if you still feel you need a few from the Roland, do it. You may be surprised to find you don't want them. Converted styles rarely sound as good on a different brand keyboard anyway.
Good Luck and enjoy the 9000.

Hi Geona

I agree with DonM.
You must to try out the 9000Pro + CVP 209 styles.
You always can find clean and very defined styles for all the songs.
I am sure:you cannot to worry with other Kbs
styles that never runs 100%.

Thanks for all the info guys.. I will try the CVP styles.

I've been using Cakewalk to cut, paste and combine styles together. Is there an easier way of doing this..? Has anyone tried using XG works..?

Geono,
If you haven't already, you should join the Yahoo PSR Styles and Songs groups. There is no charge and you'll find tons of styles and information. There is even a new group devoted exclusively to PSR 2000 users.
One piece of advice though, when you join, elect to receive no email, just read the posts on the web page, unless you want your mailbox to be flooded! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/psr2000/
