Advantage of G1000 over PSR2000/2100 ? - 08/29/03 01:56 PM

I've been hearing that the oldie Roland G1000 has significant advantages.

Roland owners, pls kindly comment, thanks.

more keys - PLUS, Minus (you decide)
NO speakers (same mentality)
ZIP drive - big plus over the Yamaha
NO mic input - big drawback for many of us.
There's more......
no time now.

I guess that depends on what you want to hear. IMHO the Yahama's sweet voices are far superior to anything on the market, and for the drum kits, that a bit subjective. When you take both keyboards right out of the box, don't do any tuning, IMO the Yamaha 2000/2100, pound for pound, dollar for dollar, can't be beat. As for the number of additional keys, who needs them?

Cheers,

Gary

Being that i used the g1000 and played with the PSR2000/2100 too(and own A1000) I would say yes. Roland's G1000 just got better piano and acoustics too.
