I'm both SHOCKED & deeply SADDENED to hear this tragic news. Chuck & I had shared some nice telephone chats while he was out visiting here in California last year. He has been my longtime loyal SZ friend, both on and off the forum, coming to my defense on numerous occasions here. He will be greatly missed by many. My deepest condolences go out to Alan Piper & his family.

God bless his soul. May he be now in a better place than all of us.

I am very saddened by this news but at the same time glad that we all knew Chuck as an accomplished musician and friend. We'll never forget him and know he is looking down on this forum even though he has passed away. Keep on playing Chuck.

Sad, sad news Bill. Chuck will be dearly missed. I pray his family is consoled and comforted through this trying time in their lives. If there is a way I can help please let me know.

Chuck's battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was a courageous one I'm sure. It hits close to home too as my Dad suffers from pulmonary fibrosis which is a condition of the lungs also.

Chuck's family can take comfort in these words:

"He that believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live". John 11:25

Best regards,
Mike
