Island Case's, has anyone heard of them ??? - 09/21/03 12:54 PM

I have been thinking about getting a hard case for
my 9000 Pro, I found out about a company called
Island Case's
They make ATA Flitecase's for all kinds of musical
equipment, the way it looks anyway.
The Company is in Holbrook, NY
Does anyone know anything about this Company ?
Are they legit ? Do they make good case's ?
Any Help or Info You Can give me would be MUCH appreciated.
Thank You
Denny

I bought one of their cases for an Alesis 88 keyboard. Although high quality and tough, the case is extremely heavy and doesn't have wheels. I sold it with the keyboard. Your better off with a tough soft case.

Hi: Al
I talked to someone at Island Case's today
they said the case weights about 20 lbs.
Does this sound about right ?
Do you think they make a good case ?
Thanks for your help,
Denny

Sounds heavy to me, but I'm used to soft cases.
Someone over at the PSR Styles group is making his own, and is going to post instructions.

Hi Denny,

I think 20lbs is about right. The case is very well made with metal corners and handles on the ends and the top. The finish is somewhat subject to scratches and scuffs.

If you have a 40 lb keyboard an additional 20 really makes a difference if your moving it around a lot. If you don't have to carry it 2 times a week, it may not be too bad.
