Boss's new Micro BR (digital 4 track) Sweet! - 07/14/06 05:43 AM
WOW, check out the new Boss Micro BR Digital recorder. You can throw it in your pocket

I guess they wanted to compete with Zoom's little pocket recorder.

Squeak,
Looks like they have a winner here! Owned both Zoom units...loved the first one (the PS-02), didn't care for the PS-04 (not as user-friendly). The Boss unit looks to be better designed, works with mp3 files, uses SD cards (which hold tons of stuff), and utilizes USB for data transfer. You'll probably be able to port individual tracks (and virtual tracks) over to your computer for additional processing\sequencing, etc...
This is gonna be sweet indeed, and shouldn't be too expensive...hopefully under 250.00 street.

Yeah I think they have a winner here too. Hopefully the price will be reasonable--I'm not holding my breath though--Boss's prices have always been a little high on their gear.
I can tell you (one) of the first complaints you'll probably hear about is that there are no track faders, and that it appears (just by looking) at the panel, you curser to the desired track and use the + and - buttons to adjust volume/pan.

I have the Boss BR600 which is smaller than a sheet of paper and only an inch thick. It is really sweet also. I'm really enjoying learning my way around it. Love the built in stereo mics and battery power...really a powerful little studio.
