Ebay question about tyros

Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 05:12 AM

I see a Tyros on sale this morning for $100...

I place a nominally higher bid to see what happens...

The seller's ID is fisher_tom00

Any experience with this seller? He's got several expensive keyboards and other items for sale as well at this crazy pricing point.

Any info appreicated...

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 05:36 AM

Is that $100 the "buy it now" price or "starting bid" price?

Squeak-

"Starting Bid"

This seller is an unregistered seller...

Is this something I should withdraw my bid from or is it safe to watch things unfold?

Bill, can you post a link. Also check out his contact email at the top. Sometimes if they are dealers that contact email contains the business name. Nardoni may be right in that he's possibly a dealer.

Bill, I checked out the auction. I also looked at his other items. This guy has to be dealer. If you look at some of the pics, they appear to be on a showroom floor. It could be an auction house too Possibly equipment from estate auctions.

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 06:02 AM

It's a SCAM IMHO..look for the payment method
I'd go with the other one for $1,000, he will take Pay-pal and other payment methods
these guy love to scam on these keyboards...I've been following them since Oct of last year....I have bidded on them, won and never heard from the seller...it says to ask him questions....ask if you can put everything into escrow after the sale to make sure it's legit and see what he says, if he even answers....I have also bidded on these types befor only to have e-bay stop the auction because it was a fraud...if you like, I can send you some other information that I have collected....

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 06:26 AM

I retracted the bid...

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is...

See what happens when I try thinking before I've had my morning coffee?

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 06:39 AM

Hi Bill:
Tony is Right: This auction looks like the usual scam. Buyer unregistered, No Feedback,
Just joined Ebay yesterday. Method of Payment.
The real kicker is where he lives. Nobody
lives in Ponca Okla. Send him an email saying
you live a few miles from Ponca and would
love to see the Tyros - bet you dont' get an
answer. Also ask him to send you the Seriel
# of Tyros - It's on outside of box so he
doesn't even need to open it.
Looked at his other items for sale. No
Dealer has a stock like this.
I have reported many of these scams to
Ebay (as have others). They are removed,
but pop up again under different names.
Another thing you can do is email him
for a Buy Now Price. Bet you he offers
the Tyros for some crazy low price.
I, of course can be wrong, but I'll
bet my wifes life on it !!!

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 06:45 AM

Just thought I should apologize to the
people of Ponca Oklahoma, as there are over
30,000 good people living there. That does
not change my mind about the sale being a scam.

I use to go to Ponca City once a year, for a high school band competition.
But this looks like a scam to me. Ask for a phone number so you can call him.

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 08:31 AM

Scamm!!!!!!!!!
I buy and sell on Ebay, and after checking thru his listings, This is a deffinate Scam and not very well instigated either.

User name suggests inexperenced grab a name for quick signup bettin his name is tom and fisher is showing his sense of humor.

First listing multiple involving thousands of dollars
Unregistered
no-feedback
lots of items to suggest being legit
pictures taken from everwhere
top wanted items all in a group
redictulous starting prices on short auction
no reserve
only photographed items that is loaded with extras
no shipping info
no payment info
(The givaway to red flag this) all the auctions ends at the same time allows scammer to collect the money and scoot post haste.
This is just my opinion, Either scam or the dumbest ebayer ever to get on Ebay.
Pose

ps emailed him and asked to come and take a look from a town close by, I don't think he'll answer me, been a couple of hours so far..

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 02/28/05 09:36 AM

Dear Fellows;

I remember that auction from a couple of weeks ago. But the seller was situated from a differnt location. The pictures are exactly the same. Maybe he has a twin brother, with an identical keyboard?

Dear SZ memebers;

I just looked at the sellers other adds. He has listed a Korg Pa1xpro, which has been listed over the past couple of weeks on 2 other occasions. The last location for the Korg was from Texas. Again with the exact same pictures. Nice Sante Fee style couch.

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 03/01/05 08:07 AM

As I stated....I follow the Yamaha keyboard auctions almost every day just to flush out the scum...I can't tell you how many I have exposed....I bid a ridicules bid so no one else get hurt...I win the bid and don't contact the seller...I never hear from them and no bad feedback....some times I hear from them in a seperate e-mail saying that I can have a second chance to buy, I then send the e-mail over to the E-bay boys for action
I have a folder full of them....You will find a lot of them from Canada and the UK....
no offence to the good guys from either place

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 03/01/05 08:36 AM

Ebay might have removed his auction but he
is still operating. At present I am corresponding with him about the Tyros. He
now claims to be a dealer in England - what
happened to Ponca, Okla ? Anyway he has asked
me for my best offer and I have emailed him back stating it was up to him to set price.
Will let you know if I hear from him again.
He also said he will pay all shipping costs
including insurance and duty taxes - do you
believe in Santa Claus ?? Will only accept a wire transfer of money.

Wow what a complete jerk! To bad you can't send a online kick in the a** to someone. When this guy responds back to you report him to ebay and let them know about the previous ad of his they removed and that he's back.

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 03/01/05 12:59 PM

Brmoore

Pass his email address to Ebay.

I had emailed him thru ebay telling him I lived close to Ponca and requested to come take a look at the Pa1x pro. Got a answer from him that he would reduce the price and pay shipping, no mention of coming to take a look. This came after ebay kicked him off, I didn't think fast enough before deleting, that I should have passed his Email address to ebay. If you still have it maybe pass it along to ebay investigators, cause I bet this address is different from what ebay has...Pose

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 03/01/05 01:25 PM

He emailed me back stating the price was now $1300.00

The guy name was listed as Tom Fisher...

His email address was:

Re: Ebay question about tyros - 03/01/05 02:09 PM

Actually a lot of the scammers selling on Ebay UK aren't even in the UK, I emailed a few of these scammers and by the poorly written English in the replies they are from a different ethnic background, they are usually from Italy, Spain, Russia. I asked one guy why he was scamming the UK...he said he wanted con money out of the stupid British...charming!

Hey Bill:
I guess Mr Fisher likes me better than you. Just got email from him saying I could have the Tyros for $1,000 USD with all the
extra goodies including shipping, insurance
etc. I will foward all info to Ebay even
though I know he will just pop up again
under different name.
