For PSR 2000 users - 12/02/01 10:07 PM

At Yamaha egroups http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yamaha-psr-styles/files/
I have all of the styles that the CVP209 has that the PSR2000 doesn't have complete with the original OTS settings plus the styles on the PSR2000 owners disk with OTS. There are some awesome styles with some finely mixed OTS settings.
If you don't belong to the Yahoo egroup you should join.
I heard that Yamaha asked someone to pull some similar styles off of the website for copyright infrictions. I'm not sure if this is official Yamaha policy or what.
I suppose if Yamaha really doesn't want these styles shared they will demand that the host of the website pull them.
I think it's incredible what this keyboard can do, and adding these CVP209 styles, I have (at my count) 299 professionally mixed styles with OTS plus all the distinct styles from the PSR 740 plus favorite converted styles from the X1 and other keyboards. Too bad I have to keep almost all of these styles on floppies. But the PSR2000 loads floppy styles so quickly, that it really isn't that bad.
Yamaha really did their homework with this one. Some of the styles are just stunning. Yes, there are a few bugs, some mediocre sounds, and some limitations and inconveniences. But I'm really really getting into this keyboard. That's all I can say.

Thank you, Beaky, for your work on these and sharing them with us. I'm downloading them fast for when I get my 2000 - before Yamaha says to delete them!

Hey Larry, many Thanks for uploading the CVP209/OTS files! It would be cool to find out from people here who download and try out these CVP w/ OTS files to tell us which ones are their personal FAVORITES!

Having all these terrific PSR2000 styles at our disposal is getting to be wonderfully overwhelming. What a RUSH! I need some time to come up for air!

You're very welcome. Merry Christmas. A few of the styles are duplicates, like the Beguine style and at least one other that I can't remember.
But yeah, it's very impressive.

Hi Laryy,

You Da Man! But how do I get to them? I did join the styles group, but the entries I see I could not find your netname nor the CVP209 styles? Is it under a different title? Or perhaps in a different place I am not looking?

It's under CVP209. The list is in alphabetical order.

There are a few styles that are duplicated on the PSR2000 such as Beguine and at least one other one.

Charlie..
Just to clarify...once you are in the Styles
page, look at menu on the left and click on
"files". It will take you right where you want to go. Then scroll down to CVP209 OTS.

I loaded a few of the styles into a PSR 9000. The styles were good, but not OTS.
Am I missing something?

You can't get the OTS settings with the PSR9000. You have to create your own I suppose. The CVP209 and PSR2000 have similar file systems. Thus the OTS settings for the CVP209 translate well into the PSR2000. I don't think the PSR9000 can have OTS embedded into the style. I think you need a separate OTS file.

You can still enjoy the styles, especially since your PSR9000 has some style voices that are missing in the PSR2000.

Once again Larry... thanks. I think you are absolutely right about the 9000 not being able to recognize the CVP OTS. Now, if I only had my PSR 2000 to try them out... where the heck is that UPS guy?
