EMC Styleworks 2000 - 03/05/05 07:54 AM

Hi There,

I purchased this program a while ago and can do nothing with it regarding midi files to styles. When I get a midi file up and press the style button to convert it to style, I then save it to my smartmedia card and transfer it to my PSR3000 and it sounds terrible. I set the Reference map to Tyros ( as there's no PSR3000 )and tried again,it sounds really pathetic. Does anyone here know anything about this program, any help would gratefully appreciated, thank you.

EMC gives you a stsrting set up...you have to edit and fine tune it your self..

EMC can do a good job for you, but it is up to you to select the measures of the SMF for each part of the style...There is no miracle working when the program guesses the locations..

Hi Fran,

I suppose this is easy when you know what to do but I'm not very techie minded, still I will try what you suggested and see if I can do anything with it, Thanks.

Hi.

It's certainly not easy if you want a desent result. As Fran say, you have
to analyze the midifile to find out what parts to use from a midifile.
Inro and i.e. 2 or 4 measures from the verse as vari.1, and 2 or 4 measures
from the refrain as vari.2 and the ending until you find yourself mastering
it well.
Count measures, and place the correct parametres in the boxes you see at
the bottom of the working page.

Also I've found out it's a good idea to find out what tracs in a midifile
to use in the style, i.e. bass, accomp.guitar, and whatever track you find
suitable for your taste, and remove the rest before continue work.
Basically, the more complex the midifile are,the more work to get a fairly
good result.
The Manual also give good description of how to use the program.

Good Luck & Happy Converting.

Hi Gunner,

Thanks for the info, it's a bit clearer now what I've got to do.

Jonny;

Do you know if EMC style factory has been released? If so can you direct me to a location where I cab find more information about it. Possibly even download a demo version. I saw in a thread that you either read or have tried the program out.

Thanks;

Klaus at EMC told me that he is trying to have it ready for
the Musikmesse in Frankfurth.
I think it's hold in April, but I'm not quite sure.
