Can psr3000 styles be played on the yamaha DGX505? - 06/21/05 12:54 AM

Could anyone compare these two keyboards side by side regarding key-action, styles and friendly user? Since the DGX-500 has the smart media slot, is it possible to load all psr3000 styles into it?
Greetings, Tel.

Yes the styles from 3K will load and work, but you will get some problems with styles that contain the 3000 Mega Voices which I believe the 500 does not have. However if you us Michaels Free program MidiPlayer from http://www.svpworld.com/ this has the facility to change the Mega Voices so that the styles can be played on boards not containing Mega Voices.

The DGX505 only has an A & B variation. From Yamaha web site for DGX505, "Intro, Main A/B, Ending, Fill-in x 2". I don't believe you can load a PSR3000 style without conversion to A & B only. Specs on the PSR3000, "Accompaniment On/Off, OTS Link, Auto Fill in, Intro x 3, Fill In x 4, Break x 1, Main Sections x 4, Ending x 3, Fade In/Out, Tap Tempo, Sync Start, Sync Stop, Ritardando"
You would need to create 2 styles from the one PSR3000 style using "Style Fix"

Hi' The 500 has no smart media slot. The 505 has it, but no Music Data Base. The 500 has MDB. What is the right answer.
